Dr. Kelsey M. Latimer, PhD, CEDS-S, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Kelsey M. Latimer is a first-generation college student, graduating from the University of Rhode Island and receiving the university’s annual president award/excellence award in both disciplines.  Dr. Kelsey's passion for research and the health/wellness of children and young adults starting her research career at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital pediatric research program which led her to furthering her education, earning her Ph.D. and MS degrees from the University of North Texas, with emphases in child/adolescent development and neuropsychology. Throughout her doctoral training, Dr. Kelsey became extremely passionate in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, women's issues, trauma treatment and anxiety management. She has since gone on to oversee several nationally recognized eating disorder treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults. During Covid, she became inspired to attain more medical training, and completed accelerated Bachelor of Nursing Science degree Summa Cum Laude from FAU where she received the academic excellence award 2022, as well as completing her Masters of Nursing Science as a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner graduating with Honors Distinction from STU in 2024.  In addition, is also an Associate Alumni of Harvard Medical School as a graduate of the Foundation of Clinical Research Certificate Program in 2024.  


​Dr. Kelsey is skilled in a variety of techniques and skills, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, person-centered, and interpersonal process work.  Regardless of techniques and tools used, she always utilizes a strengths-based approach, seeing a person first as a person and second someone dealing with a problem! In addition to being a PSYPACT licensed clinical psychologist, she is also a Certified School Psychologist, Qualified Supervisor (QS) in the state of Florida, and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor for IAEDP.  Dr. Kelsey is an expert in psychosocial-educational, psychological, and neuropsychological testing (including gifted, ADHD , specific learning disability, and autism assessments) for both pediatric and adult populations.  She also is a full professor in the Clinical Psychopharmacology Department at The Chicago School.  

Dr. Kelsey has presented regionally/nationally/ internationally with over 50 invited presentations on topics such as body image, dieting downfalls, eating disorder evidence-based treatment, college student functioning and working with the millennial generation.  She has been featured in dozens of media outlets (including TIME, Teen Vogue, Forbes, Today.com, Women's Health print magazine, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Washington Post, Huffington Post and many others) and is a medical reviewer for Everyday Health and bpHope.  Dr. Kelsey is also the co-author of the children's book series "POOFAS," which focuses on helping children to understand their emotions and provide development of positive self-esteem and positive self-talk.
